Any student equipped with a strong foundation, a desire to learn, and personalized instruction can excel in mathematics and other subject areas. Our mission is to catalyze every student’s potential by providing them with the specialized help that they need.

Achievements

Many of our students have become State Mathcounts champions
In parent surveys, our students are always in the 90th percentile or higher on the NWEA’s
Consequently, our math program has high retention rates, with 95% of students coming back, year after year

Our math tutoring program provides an individualized math education for students at the beginning of the school year that encompasses all mathematical subjects and skill levels, including elementary math, middle school math, high school math, and competitive math. Our math tutors are experienced in tutoring students on a diverse range of math subjects, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and trigonometry.

Free Tutoring

We are fortunate to have a group of talented high school students and passionate parents volunteer to offer 1 on 1 math tutoring sessions to students K-8 each Saturday. Each student can reserve one 20 min session each Saturday. Space is limited, so please make your reservations early.

As a parent, I have come to appreciate the deep pedagogical foundation of MICS Singapore Math Program. It is clear that the program has been carefully developed by bright, committed, well-trained people who love both math and teaching children.

MICS teaches our children to see math, to enjoy learning, and to believe in themselves. Being successful at MICS requires hard work and dedication from both children and parents. Significant homework is expected and today’s children have to get accustomed to a focused, disciplined classroom where fun is encouraged but acting up is not tolerated. Education is a paramount value for our family. I attribute most of my girls’ mathematics prowess to MICS and I am grateful for its caring and passionate teaching of our children.

When Joseph was in grade 3, we noticed that the math he was getting during his regular school classes was not sufficient a challenge for him. We asked his classroom teacher to give him additional math problems, but she flatly refused. During grade 3, I taught him some additional geometry at home. I noticed that while he was absorbing the concepts quite well, what we were doing at home was not good enough because there was no opportunity to practice the concepts and there was no peer group. At the beginning of the next school year, we heard about MICS Singapore Math Program. Joseph was faced with an extremely steep learning curve. Most, if not all kids in his Singapore Math class were very far ahead of him, having started in earlier years. However, with adequate support at home and very competent and kind guidance from his teacher, Joseph finished the year with over 90%. Since then, Joseph has become independent. At his regular school he is one of the best students in his year and one of the top students in math. His teachers appreciate him for his willingness to help his colleagues and share his knowledge with them.
